Faculty of Science Academic Mentoring Program

Registration opening TBC   Login Now

The Faculty of Science Academic Mentoring Program is available to all Honours students, higher degree research students (MPhil & PhD), all academic staff across the Faculty of Science, and to industry mentors.

This Program is a one-up mentoring scheme. Participants will be paired with a mentor who is at least one stage ahead of them in their career. Other matching criteria are determined by the preferences of each participant, such as School, research area, working style, etc.

The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated again how important a strong and robust scientific community is to ensure the general public has access to accurate, evidence-based information.

We have all benefited from someone showing us the ropes, giving us a push, or sponsoring us for a new opportunity. These connections don’t always come naturally, and we want to change that. That is why we are delivering new Mentoring Programs, designed to help support your career development.

This 4th edition will formally run for 6 months with the first matching round starting in July 2022, but registrations will remain open throughout semester for those participants who decide to join later. Mentors and mentees can choose how often they connect but a typical commitment would be one hour per month.

Please make sure you read the joining rules before completing the registration.
