Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) peer mentoring programs help develop a supportive and effective learning community for all students in the Faculty and University of Sydney.
FASS Student Mentors are senior students in your course or area of study who can assist you to settle into university life. This may include:
- providing support and advice based on their experiences;
- familiarising you with your Faculty/School and University services;
- providing general information about your course;
- answering your questions about starting university (or directing you to the appropriate staff to assist you);
- organising mentoring sessions/group activities to help you meet other first-year students and build early friendships.
Mentors are not intended to replace the academic advice, tutoring or assistance with your course material provided by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
