Welcome to the
Dalyell Professional Mentoring Program

The Dalyell Professional Mentoring Program connects third year Dalyell Scholars with mentoring from an experienced industry professional to provide opportunities for these high achieving students to explore career pathways, build graduate qualities at the highest level and increase employability.

This program is part of the University of Sydney's Dalyell Scholars stream, where students are challenged academically, have opportunities to cultivate professional expertise and leadership, and become part of a worldwide network of leaders.

Elsie Jean Dalyell (pronounced "Dee-el") (1881-1948) was a distinguished medical graduate from the University of Sydney and was also the first full-time female academic in our Faculty of Medicine. A pioneer resident medical officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Elsie subsequently travelled to London on a scholarship and, after serving in the First World War, worked as a senior clinician in a Vienna-based research team studying deficiency diseases in children. Her academic excellence and commitment to creating her own path are hallmarks of our Dalyell Scholars stream.

The Dalyell Professional Mentoring Program runs throughout Semester 1 each year, between approximately March to June. Dalyell Scholars and industry professionals interested in getting involved in the program are encouraged to
